Ben Barker sculpture - Wood and Stone Ben Barker sculpture - Metal

Ben Barker first identified with sculpture as a young man and it has remained an enduring passion throughout his life. Sculptors he particularly admires are Auguste Rodin, Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Jean Arp, Jacob Epstein, Constantin Brancusi, Jacques Lipchitz and Alberto Giacometti but to name a few.

The inspiration for Ben's sculpture focuses on the natural world, the human form and abstract concepts. He has a truth to materials approach to his work and carves in wood or stone, or casts in bronze or aluminium. Ben creates and finishes his metal sculpture in his foundry and exhibits in selected UK galleries. He organises workshops in stone carving and foundry work and undertakes private and public commissions including presentation awards.
